Council of Representatives Election 2019
The Council of Representatives is chosen in the Council of Representatives Election for 2020-2021. The voting will be held electrically. The election days for the term 2020-2021 are 4.-6.11.2019 and advance voting is organized on 31.10.2019 and 1.11.2019.

It is important to vote because in that way you can influence what kind of decisions the Council of Representatives and the Student Union make.
What the Council?
Council of Representatives is JYY’s parliament, which makes decisions on some of the most important issues regarding the Student Union. Students elect the 41 Council members in elections organized every other year.
Council of Representatives makes decisions on issues such as rules, budget, financial statement, loans and construction. The Council also elects the Student Union’s Board, the Chair of the Board and the most important JYY employees, such as the Executive Director and the Editor-in-Chief.
The Council meets approximately once a month. The meetings are open for all students.
The voting will be held electrically so it is easy to vote whether in campus or elsewhere. Election days are 4.-6.11. and 31.10.-1.11.
University of Jyväskylä has given an Operating Model for the Election of the Student Union’s Council of Representatives. This has been given so that the University remains politically neutral during the elections. You can find the Operating Model for the Election here.
The Council of Representatives decides on the Student Union Membership fee, budget and most relevant staff among other things.
