JYY supports a local development- and culture association Aurora Borealis, who works in Nepal helping young people in their higher education studies. Education is the key to a bright future, but in Nepal, not everyone can afford to study.
Academic Sponsorship Program, supported by Aurora Borealis and JYY, helps bright young people, who want to continue their studies in a college or vocational school after the elementary studies. The support includes the tuition fees and other costs such as the school uniform, materials and transportation. A local association Loo Niva Child Concern Group is responsible for the practical execution of the Academic Sponsorship Program.
You have the opportunity to support our project by volunteering in our events, organizing your own fundraising event or by buying lunch tickets in Ilokivi with a development cooperation extra, which is 0,2€ per lunch.
JYY is currently planning its future projects. If you are interested in being part of the planning process, come to the meetings of the Subcommittee for Development Cooperation.
In addition to the project in Nepal, JYY’s development cooperation sector coordinates the Fair University project and organizes the annual Development Cooperation Week.
