Amazing Race Jyväskylä 2022 – Sat 29.4. from 11 am till 5 pm

One day, 150 teams and 600 students: the most anticipated student event of the holiday, the Amazing Race Jyväskylä, will be held live for the first time in a long time on Saturday 29 April!
Amazing Race Jyväskylä is an interdisciplinary urban navigation competition similar to the popular TV series. Teams of four navigate from spot to spot, competing against each other and against time. The fastest teams and the teams with the best spirit are awarded prizes!

Tickets sold out again in minutes! All teams will start from Alvari square in front of the university’s main building C at 11 am.

Student cap on the statue of Uno Cygnaeus – Sun 30.4. from 5.15 pm till 6.05 pm

As Minna is in storage, this year we’re putting a cap on Uno! The statue of Uno Cygnaeus is located in a park opposite the main library in Jyväskylä, called (you guessed it) Uno Cygnaeus Park.

Uno will receive his cap on Sunday 30.4. The event’s programme starts in the park at 5.15 pm and the cap will be put on Uno’s head at 6.00 pm. We recommend arriving early. Also the brass band Puhkupillit will perform as part of the program!

Organized together with Student Union of JAMK University of Applied Sciences – JAMKO.
You can find the Facebook event here.

Lakitus AfterParty – Sun 30.4. from 6 pm till 11 pm

What better way to spend time after putting the cap on Uno than to continue to party at Lakitus AfterParty in Mattilanniemi Park from 6 pm onwards! An honest picnic-style party with a DJ, yard games and possibly a chance to start recovering from the May Day.

The toilets are located in the MaD building, which also has an inva restroom. The party will take place in the park area, the condition of which we cannot guarantee. For this reason, we are unable to provide accurate accessibility information.

The party is organized in cooperation with Pörssi, Stimulus and Sporticus. You can find the Facebook event here.

JYY’s May Day Picnic – Mon 1.5. from 12 pm till 5 pm

On May 1st, the best way to spend the day is to lounge (hopefully) in the sunshine on a blanket on the Harju slope on the Yliopistonkatu side at the JYY’s traditional May Day picnic. There will be a some programme and music. The picnic starts at 12 pm and ends at 5 pm.

We recommend that you bring your own drinks, snacks and blankets. After the picnic, please remember to put your rubbish in the bin provided. And don’t worry, there will be a portable toilet brought to the Harju. You can find the Facebook event here.

May Day Picnic’s Movie After – Mon 1.5. from 5 pm till 8 pm

JYY’s May Day events will end this year on 1 May at 5 pm at Ilokivi Venue with Vapaa Kino film series! The film of the evening will be Hot Shots! – the Mother of All Movies. The screening starts at 6 pm. JYY will provide popcorn and the Venue’s bar will be open. Free admission! You can find the Facebook event here.
