Nuutti Ruotsalainen has been recruited as the substitute for JYY’s Specialist in Social Affairs. The JYY board made the decision in its meeting on October 24th, 2024.
Ruotsalainen’s substitution begins in February 2025 and lasts until summer 2025.
Previously, Ruotsalainen has worked as the JYY board member responsible for municipal policy in 2023, when he was also responsible for JYY’s parliamentary election campaign.
“It’s a great honor to get to work for a better life for students. The municipal and county elections in the spring are especially important for students in Jyväskylä: functioning, accessible and affordable services are necessary for students”, Ruotsalainen says.
“I’m very glad that we get to have Nuutti back at the office to advocate for students in social affairs and to lead JYY’s campaign for the municipal and county election”, says JYY’s Executive Director Teemu Vasama.
The Specialist in Social Affairs is in charge of trusteeship work regarding students’ well-being. His responsibilities include the FSHS, students’ livelihood, equality and accessibility. During the spring of 2025, the work around the municipal and county election, such as coordinating JYY’s election campaign and contacting new local decision-makers, is highlighted in the role.
