The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY) is announcing the following assignments for application:
2 POSITIONS FOR STUDENT MEMBERS ON THE BOARD OF BUSINESS, TERM ENDING IN 2019. 2 POSITIONS FOR STUDENT MEMBERS ON THE BOARD OF BUSINESS, TERM ENDING IN 2020.
JYY is one of the major real estate owners and lessors in Central Finland. JYY owns, manages and rents over 1600 student apartments and business premises in Kortepohja and Vehkakuja. We have over 2000 tenants. JYY also owns service and restaurant businesses and has shared ownerships in a computer sales and a restaurant business.
The Board of Business is a new administrative organ in JYY which will have seven (7) members. Four (4) members will be JYY’s student members and three members will be outside experts in business economics, technology, and law.
The Board of Business will prepare all matters concerning the JYY Group, shared ownerships, and especially matters considering investing, owning, building and long-term loans for deliberation in the executive board of the student union. The Board of Business will make decisions and execute all matters in which JYY’s Council of Representatives has decided to transfer authority on in the student union’s budget.
Terms for members of the Board of the Business will be two years. Two new members will be recruited every year. If a member’s membership in the Student Union ends they must resign of the Board of the Business by the end of that year. Because this is the first year the Board of Business’ first year, the terms of the first two student members will end at the end of the year 2019 and the other two at the end of the year 2020.
We are looking especially for motivation and the desire to learn in applicants. We will also consider adequate knowledge of economics and business in applications. We want to encourage all the student to apply, no matter what your major subject, gender-identity, language or know-how is.
Write an informal application in which you tell your name, student number, email address, postal address, phone number, faculty, main subject and all the experience, know-how and motivation you want to tell us when we make a decision.
Applications must be delivered to the Chair of the Decision Committee Aino Rytkönen till 03.04.2019 at 18:00. The final decision will be made in the meeting of the Council of Representatives.
Members of the Board of Business will be paid a fee for participating in the meetings. The suggestion is approximately 120e/ meeting. The exact amount will be decided in the meeting of the Council of Representatives in April.
The application period begins from the time of the announcement and ends 03.04.2019 at 18:00.
