uMove – sports and wellbeing for the students of the local Universities in Jyväskylä. Come and try out uMove’s group fitness classes and ball games, e.g. Bodycombat, Zumba Step and Spikeball.

Les Mills BODYCOMBAT is an empowering cardio workout that is inspired by different kinds of martial arts, such as karate, kick-boxing, muay thai and taekwondo, the program teaches you the main principals of the different martial arts, lifts your heart rate up to the ceiling and makes you push yourself to the limits. This class is instructed in English.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class starts. Enter through the main doors. You’ll find the changing rooms in the basement floor. From the changing rooms you can go up the stairs to the sports hall which is on the 2nd floor. All the equipment are in the sports hall.

Zumba Step 45 min.

Fun mixture of Zumba and Step Aerobics! Learn how to blend step aerobics with the fun and effective Zumba® program for a workout targeting legs, glutes and core and getting a great cardio exercise at the same time.

Spikeball/Roundnet – sport trial 60 min.

Welcome to play and practice roundnet also known as spikeball. First, we are going to get a feel for the ball and for the net during different kinds of short drills. The main thing for this sport trial class is playing spikeball though!

Bring indoor sports clothes, indoor playing shoes (shoes that have a blond sole. The bottom/sole of the shoe cannot not be black, because it is going to leave black marks on the floor) and a water bottle with you.

Please arrive on time. The changing rooms can be found at 1st floor and Palloilusali at 2nd floor. Lockers for clothes can be found at 1. level corridor and those work electronically. (Instructions: Locker for JYU — Jyväskylän yliopisto)

Pump workout strengthens your entire body. The workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. The exercises are done with a barbell and with the amount of weights of your choice.

Body Care 55 min.

Body Care classes help you to recover, improve your body control and increase mobility. The class consists of a warm-up, different exercises and relaxation at the end of the class.
