Due to data protection reasons, JYY has removed attachment files containing some personal or confidential information from its website.
The removed attachment files were documents of the representatives’ council. Most of the attachments were public documents that could be freely requested. However, it was not appropriate to share these documents publicly through our website. In addition, our website contained some links to information that is deemed confidential based on the Act on the Openness of Government Activities (24§). There were errors in attachment files for years 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The error was discovered on Thursday March 9th. The erroneously published materials were removed during the same day. After the error was discovered, JYY has clarified the responsibilities surrounding the representatives’ council’s documents and charted better practices for the future. As a result of this, we have decided on March 13th to remove all attachments of past council meetings from our website. During the spring, JYY will make a decision about the sharing of the attachments in the future.
JYY aims to contact the people whose personal information has been available through our website. This work has already been started.
The purpose of sharing the representatives’ council’s documents has been to make JYY’s work as open and accessible as possible to all of our members. However, our website has contained links to materials that were not appropriate to share publicly.
We apologize for the error and the harm caused by it.
