The percentage of voters in JYY Council of Representatives election, which ended on Wednesday 8th of November, was 29%. This is 9 percentage points higher than in two past elections. Read more about the election results and about the new council here: https://jyy.fi/en/election/results/The current council meets for the last time on Wednesday 15th of November at 17.15 in Ilokivi upstairs. The strategy for years 2018-2022, JYY’s action plan and the budget for 2018 will be discussed. In addition, the student representatives for university’s bodies will be chosen. The council meetings are open for all the student union members.

JYY takes part in developing the Nuuskakuja block, located right next to the city centre. In addition to KOAS buildings, JYY is planning apartments for both students and visiting lecturers and researchers.WELL-BEING WEEK IS HERE!

JYY has been doing development cooperation with Indian partners for over 10 years. In the end of this year our cooperation is coming to its end and we want to celebrate our achievements with an Indian themed event! Every year the third Thursday of November the new Beaujolais wines hit markets. “Soirée de Beaujolais nouveau” is a traditional fête organized by Astérix, the association of the Romance philology students of the University of Jyväskylä. The celebration naturally takes place on the Beaujolais nouveau day, which falls to the 16th of November this year. In addition to the new Beaujolais, freshly bottled Gamay red wine, we also offer various kinds of cheese, snacks and other good things to eat to ensure that the wine goes down and the atmosphere stays amazing.
