Class descriptions  

EASY Kick&Box 

EASY Kick&Box is a low-threshold class consisting of boxing and kicking done to the beat of music, as well as heart rate raising and muscle conditioning sections.

The boxing sequences are based on basic boxing techniques and provide and the kicking sequences are inspired by various martial arts and self-defence disciplines. You will learn the techniques in class so you don’t need any previous experience in martial arts.

In this versatile class, you’ll work on muscle tone, endurance, coordination and balance!  You can vary the intensity of the class to your fitness level, and the class is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. 

The class is fun and fast-paced, so you’ll get a good sweat. Remember to bring a sweat towel and a water bottle!

Strong Legs

Strengthen your lower body!

Strong Legs is a short but effective lower body workout. You can do the exercises on your own pace and choose the suitable weights for your own level so you can join the workout whether you’re a beginner or advanced.

This short workout is easy to fit in a busy day and it’s a great workout on its own but if you wish a longer workout, you might stay for the Strong Arms class – these two make a great combination together.

Strong Arms is a short but effective upper body workout. You can do the exercises on your own pace and choose the suitable weights for your own level so you can join the workout whether you’re a beginner or advanced.

This short workout is easy to fit in a busy day and it’s a great workout on its own but if you wish a longer workout, you might combine it with Strong Legs.

Let your inner fighter out!

Les Mills BODYCOMBAT is an empowering cardio workout that is inspired by different kinds of martial arts, such as karate, kick-boxing, muay thai and taekwondo. The program teaches you the main principals of the different martial arts, lifts your heart rate up to the ceiling and makes you push yourself to the limits.

You don’t have to have any previous experience of martial arts training so come and join!

Body Care

Take care of your body and recover better!

Body Care classes help you to recover, improve your body control and increase mobility. The class consists of a warm-up, different exercises and relaxation at the end of the class.

Intensity: light

Info for the participants

  • Bring with you: indoor sports clothes & shoes, a water bottle and a sweat towel. 
  • Equipment: You don’t need your own equipment. The equipment used in the classes of the Liikunta building (L) are in the equipment storage room L149. Pick up the equipment from the storage room before the class starts. The instructor will write down what you need in the class on the whiteboard next to the storage room. At Jamk the equipment are in the sports hall. 
  • Arrival: Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class starts. 
  • Jamk: Enter through the main doors. You’ll find the changing rooms in the basement floor. From the changing rooms you can go up the stairs to the sports hall which is on the 2nd floor.
  • University’s Liikunta building: Enter through the main doors. Walk straight down the isle and you’ll find the sports halls, dressing rooms, the equipment storage room and the lockers on the corridor.
