The purpose of the Student Union’s International Affairs is to supervise the interests of international students and the internationalization of the Finnish students of the University of Jyväskylä. The international sector aims to promote interaction between different cultures. With its help, international students have opportunities to get to know Finnish people and culture, and Finnish students get the chance to experience an international atmosphere and learn about different cultures. The international sector organizes international events and activities. There is no need to go abroad to become international – you can do it in your own campus!
The Subcommittee for International Affairs is suitable for everyone, Finns and international students alike. It is an open forum where people discuss international educational and welfare issues. The main point of view is on studying abroad as well as foreign students at the University of Jyväskylä. The subcommittee aims to promote intercultural understanding and to increase the number of encounters between people from different cultural backgrounds.
Keep yourself up to date by following the news on the Student Union’s website and by joining the mailing list. The Subcommittee for International Affairs (SIA) meets regularly, and the meetings are open for everyone.
