Vappukuulutus! event
April 24 @ 20:00 - 20:45
FreeNow it’s happening! JYY has received permission from the City of Jyväskylä to play from Vesilinna (Harju Tower) Vappukuulutus! song to mark the beginning of the vappu week. And that’s not all! We are organising an event in the parking lot of Vesilinna, with the Orchestra Voitto. There will also be a programme of vappu speeches and a presentation of the Vappukuulutus! by music education student Veikka Holma.
So let’s start the week with a small-scale pilgrimage! We welcome all university and university of applied sciences students to join us to start the week in Harju, from where we can then continue the evening with, among other things, a Vappukuulutus! block party.
The event is free admission and we ask participants to dress for the weather on the evening. Overalls are a welcome sight! You can bring your own snacks and drinks.
The event starts at 20:00 with a Vappukuulutus! from the Vesilinna (Harju Tower). A more detailed schedule will be announced closer to the event!
THE PRINCIPLES OF A SAFER SPACE
The event will follow JYY’s safer space principles, which you can read here. By participating in the event, you agree to abide by them. The JYY’s trusted persons will be present at the event. You will recognise him or her by the JYY grey hoodie and equality pin. You can contact him or her at low threshold if you feel that the principles of the safer space have been violated.
ON ACCESSIBILITY
The Vesilinna (Harju Tower) area is accessible. We recommend that people with reduced mobility enter from the Pitkäkatu side. When arriving from Pitkäkatu, please take into account the long and steep hill. The most direct way to get to Vesilinna by foot is by climbing the Harju stairs (Nero’s stairs).
We reserve the right to make changes.
