JYY’s Representatives’ Council has selected Teemu Vasama as the substitute for the Executive Director. The decision was made in the Council’s meeting on September 13th.
Vasama started orientation for the role on September 18th and will remain in the position until May 14th, 2024. Previously, Vasama has been the Chair of JYY’s board in 2017 and has worked as the Specialist in Academic Affairs since January 2022.
“It’s a great joy and honor to get to lead my dear home student union! During this semester JYY has many important things ahead, such as the Representatives’ Council election and the 90th annual celebration. I’m looking forward to learning more about the role”, Vasama says.
“JYY will be in knowledgeable and steady hands”, says JYY’s Executive Director Minna Kalliokoski-Oinas.
The Executive Director is responsible for and leads the student union’s service- and advocacy work. Their responsibilities also include administration as well as preparing the decisions of the board and the representatives’ council.
