The Council of Representatives of the Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä has elected Teemu Vasama student member of the University Board in its meeting on October 22nd.
I am very excited to be a part of the University Board and in this role, help usher our university into a new decade. Our new strategy is an excellent basis for the university’s further development. Investing in the well-being of the university community is especially important, since without healthy students and staff, we cannot achieve ourother goals, commented Vasama.
The Board is one of the university’s highest governing bodies. It sets the university’s main academic and financial goals, and decides on the university’s admission numbers.
During the current term, the Board is made up of seven members, of which one is a student. Vasama’s term as student representative will last from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2021.
The Student Representative of Board of the University of Jyväskylä receives a salary of 1200 euros a month as decided by the University Collegium. In addition, members are paid 300 euros per meeting.
