On Wednesday 24.4.2024 JYY organized the Vappukuulutus! -event at the Harju tower. The intention was to play the Vappukuulutus! -song composed by student Veikka Holma from the Harju tower. However, due to technical difficulties the song could not be played. The Vappukuulutus was played in the event by the orchestra Voitto instead.
The new time for playing the Vappukuulutus from the Harju tower is Wednesday May 1st at 3 pm.
“Maybe it’s fitting that not everything went perfectly on the first attempt. The most imporant thing is to get the Vappukuulutus played and May Day is a great occasion to play it for students!”, says Veikka Holma with a smile.
The Vappukuulutus is a new student tradition that brings together the students of Jyväskylä to celebrate the start of Vappu-week. In the event, there was live music and speeches from students, and the evening continued in the Vappukuulutus! -block party in the night club Freetime, restaurant Venn and restaurant Revolution.
