APPLY FOR SHIFTS FOR INDOOR SPORTS HALLS
Apply by 31.8.!
Students can apply for a one-hour shift for indoor sports hall for the academic year 2018-19. JYY Central Office in Ilokivi is open with extended office hours in September.

JYY’S STUDENT CALENDERS STILL LATE
Unfortunately, we have not yet received the shipment of the new annual calendars due to a freight issue. They will possibly arrive during week 36. We will however let you know as soon as they have arrived, please follow Facebook and our website. We are terribly sorry for the delay!

TWO-ROOM APARTMENTS AVAILABLE IN VEHKAKUJA 2
Vehkakuja, in Savela, offers comfortable student housing. 8-floor houses, owned by JYY, are located conveniently close to the services and outdoor recreation areas. The best thing is that you continue living in Vehkakuja after graduating. The rent includes water, electricity, internet and the possibility to use Rentukka gym. JYY IS LOOKING FOR A FAIR TRADE COORDINATOR
29.8.2018 – 16.9.2018
Student union of the University of Jyväskylä and the University of Jyväskylä are looking for a Fair trade- coordinator. The goal is to promote Fair trade products. Working as a coordinator offers excellent opportunities to learn about Fair trade and to gain practical experience in project work. A nominal compensation of 300€ per year is paid. Please apply by sending your application and your CV in English to kv-asiantuntija@jyy.fi no later than 16th September. The interviews will be arranged on week 38.

JYY’S OPENING FAIR IN AGORA
Tue 4.9. 9-16, Agora lobby
Get to know the subject and hobby organizations and representative groups of JYU and JYY and their activities at the opening fair. The fair is organized at the Agora lobby and after the fair there will be an opening picnic on the green area near the shore. Come and learn about the student activities and take part in lotteries!

NEW BEGINNINGS – KITCHEN UTENSILS FREE OF CHARGE FOR STUDENTS
Wed 5.9. 15-18, Veturitallit
Free kitchen utensils for students available at Veturitallit in the New Beginnigns event, organized by the Martha Organization in Central Finland and the City of Jyväskylä youth services. Kitchen utensil were collected in August as donations for students. Come and find utensils for your student kitchen!

CARE AND READING DOGS ON CAMPUS
Thu 6.9. 16.30-17.30
Care and reading dog project begins! Dogs visit the university twice a month in the reading dog lounge, which is located in MaA104. Many students want to meet the dogs, which is why you have to sign up for the meeting in advance. Each group has 30 minutes with the dogs. This is how it works: 1) Check out on the Language Centre website when the dogs are on campus. 2) Sign up for one meeting in Korppi. Use the code xKoirat (Kaveri- ja lukukoirat kampuksella) in Korppi.

INTERDISCIPLINARY AUTUMN OPENING

There’s no reason to panic even though the summer is almost over. The super-hot weather of the past summer comes back one more time when the Interdisciplinary Autumn Opening happens! Now it’s your time to dig up your hottest beach clothes and coolest summer hats before you forget them in your closet for the winter. So dress up for the weather and head to Esc! VOICE CHOIR PRESENTS: KISS FROM A ROSE CONCERTS

This concert introduces diverse pop and rock music in Finnish and in English. We’ll hear fresh choir versions of songs by Egotrippi and Seal. Accompanist is Solitary Company band and the conductor Tarja Erkkilä, director Tuuli Peltomaa. Tickets at the door/in advance: Adults 15€/13€, students 10€/8€, children (7-15y.) 8€/6€, children (under 7y.) for free. Welcome!
