The Subcommittee for Development Cooperation of the Student Union JYY is looking for a student to coordinate the Development Cooperation theme week.
JYY has organized the annual Development Cooperation Week for several years. The theme weeks takes place in October but the planning work needs to start already in the summer.
The coordinator, together with the Subcommittee for Development Cooperation, is responsible for the theme week. The coordinator recruits student volunteers and with the help of this volunteer group the coordinator plans and carries out the theme week, as well as produces the necessary communication materials for the event. The work is the busiest right before and during the theme week in October.
The position requires fluent English skills and understanding written Finnish. In addition, previous knowledge or experience in project work, communications and group leading are seen as an asset.
Working as a coordinator offers excellent opportunities to learn about development cooperation and to gain practical experience in project work, communications and group leading.
A nominal compensation of 300€ is paid for the coordinator.
