FUTURE IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS – THE COUNCIL OF REPRESENTATIVES ELECTION IS ON

Now is the time to elect the highest decision-making body in the Student Union – The Council of Representatives for the term 2018-2019. Use your vote, the future is at your fingertips! Members of the Student Union that are currently registered as students at the University of Jyväskylä are eligible to vote at the election.
The election is for the first time electronic which means that you can vote wherever you like with a device connected to internet. The voting system is open on every election day (6.-8.11.). from 8am to 8pm.

HOW TO VOTE:
1. Go online to: https://jyy.fi/en/vote/
- Log in with your university username (between 8 am and 8 pm)
- Vote the candidate of your choice! You can change your vote by logging in to the voting system again.
The Student Union also organizes polling stations for voting from 11am to 3pm as follows: Monday 6.11. Ruusupuisto, Tuesday 7.11. Liikunta, Wednesday 8.11. Agora and University Library.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SEXUAL HARASSMENT

The event on Thursday 16.11, 14.15-16, Building C, auditorium C4
The #metoo -campaign has brought up important discussions about sexual harassment globally. During the Well-being week the lecture by Rape Crises Centre Tukinainen will discuss sexual harassment and how to recognize, interfere with and prevent any kind of harassment. The lecture is held in Finnish, but we will make sure that the information will be available also in English after the lecture.
You can send questions, comments or experiences related to sexual harassment beforehand via this form, latest on the 13th of November. The questions and comments will be discussed, if possible, during the lecture, and some of them will also published anonymously by JYY after the event.

The Student and Academic Services of the University of Jyväskylä (both centralised and local services) is closed due to staff training on Wed 8.11. and Thu 23.11.2017.
THEFTS ON CAMPUS

There have been weekly thefts on university campuses lately. For instance, valuable electronics and clothes have been stolen. University’s security officer wants to remind the students:
• When leaving your coat on the coat rack, don’t leave any money or valuables in the pockets. Also, do not leave your laptop on the table unattended.
• If you are the last one to leave a class, close and lock the doors and windows.
• In case of a theft, inform the university’s security officer. Many of the thefts can be solved because of the security camera system on campus.

Liikunnan Riemu, which consists of university students, meets D-kiekko. The match will be a pre-event for Poikkitieteelliset Haalaribileet! Pre-Game begins 17:45, when the doors, cafeterias and bars open. Live performer starts 18:15 and the game begins 18:45. During the match, there are also several competitions going on. Students with a student card or student overalls will get a free entrance! Others 3/6€.
