Development Cooperation

The Student Union’s development cooperation work revolves around the activities of the subcommittee and the development cooperation projects of the Student Union. The subcommittee welcomes everyone interested in development cooperation. Its task is to inform students about development cooperation in general and the Student Union’s development cooperation projects in India.

In 2010 the Student Union started a new development project in India in cooperation with Bal Rashmi Society. The project strives to empower village communities in Rajasthan, India. Until the end of 2010, the Student Union also supported a model eco-village development project in the rural area of Bharatpur, India. In addition, in 2011 the Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä, other local student unions and National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) launched a national development project for common Development Cooperation Weeks.
