The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY) is a community of approximately 13,500 students. We offer students a wide range of advocacy, events, and diverse services. In addition, we support the activities of over 60 organizations operating under our umbrella and are closely involved in students’ everyday lives. In our activities, we emphasize a student-centered approach and a sense of community, bringing companies and students together. JYY’s strength lies in its multidisciplinary and skilled membership.
How to reach students through us?
We offer your organization visibility at JYY’s events, on social media, and on campus. Explore the visibility opportunities we provide below and get in touch — together we can tailor a package that suits your company perfectly!
JYY organizes several interdisciplinary May Day (Vappu) events, the largest of which are the lighthearted inter-university urban planning competition Amazing Race Jyväskylä, where 600 students compete in teams of three, and the Vappu Picnic, where 1,000 students come to enjoy May Day regardless of the weather.
In addition, every year JYY celebrates its founding day with various festivities. Every 5th and 10th year, an academic dinner is organized, and in the intervening years an annual celebration is held. Whether it is the turn of the academic dinner or the annual gala, they are always accompanied by traditional student dinner parties (sitsit).
We are also able to organize various campus tours on different campuses of the University of Jyväskylä to suit the needs of your community and company.
Your organization’s or company’s advertisement campaign can be displayed on JYY’s own information screens. The screens in student residential buildings reach students living in Kortepohja and Korttelikylä, while the screen at the Student House also reaches people having lunch at Ilokivi. Monthly reach is approximately 12,000 pairs of eyes!
We can also offer your community and company visibility on JYY’s social media channels, which reach, among others, students of the University of Jyväskylä and its alumni.
The Slice student card is an application that gives your company the opportunity to offer coupons and campaigns to JYY members or place advertisements on the front page of the members’ app.
