Minna’s Journey

Minna’s Journey is an interdisciplinary event appro held each spring that brings together all students in Jyväskylä to celebrate the May Day.

What is Minna’s Journey?

Minna’s Journey is an interdisciplinary event appro where participants collect stamps in their passes by attending May Day events organized by student organizations. The journey culminates on May 1 at the Harju’s traditional May Day picnic, where participants can pick up the Minna’s Journey overalls patch.

The goal of Minna’s Journey is to bring together higher‑education students regardless of their field of study or institution, and to encourage interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration. The event is organised jointly by JYY and JAMKO, in cooperation with several other student associations that contribute by organising individual events included in the appro. Information about the following year’s event programme, completion instructions, and appro passes will be published on this page closer to the event.

JYY emblem for the graduation cap

Did you know that the cap emblem on your graduation cap is a traditional symbol of admission to the University of Helsinki? But don’t worry! All student unions now have their own cap emblem, so as a JYY member, you can replace it with JYY’s own emblem. You can purchase the cap emblem from JYY’s service desk at Ilokivi for eight euros. Please note that we only accept card payments.
