Board of Executives
The Board of Executives is responsible for the Student Union’s daily administration, advocacy work, and the preparation and implementation of decisions.
JYY’s Board of executives
JYY’s operations include both member services and business functions, with the board of JYY responsible for decision-making in both areas. The Board serves as the executive committee for member services and actively participates in the planning and implementation of its day-to-day operations. They participate in advocacy work, organize events, and contribute to planning and development initiatives. The activities of the Board are led by the Chairperson, and the Board comprises nine other members, each assigned a primary area of responsibility.

Applying to the Board
Applications for positions of trust at JYY are accepted annually in October. During the application period, you can run for a position on the JYY’s Executive Board, the Board’s chairmanship, or the Student Union’s chairmanship. The selection process includes an open application, candidate interviews, and negotiations among the Representative Council groups. After negotiations are complete, applicants will be notified of the results. The outcome serves as a draft proposal for the Representative Council’s organizational meeting, where the final selections for positions of trust are made.
According to the rules of the Student Union, every member of JYY can apply for JYY’s Board, and the candidates of the 2025 Council elections who are members of JYY can apply for the Student Union’s Presidency positions. JYY’s Board is elected in accordance with the Equality act’s obligation of equality (609/1986, Act on Equality between women and men) under section 4 a paragraph 2.
More detailed application instructions will be published later on this page.
