Advocacy work
JYY carries out systematic and goal-oriented advocacy work to improve students’ everyday lives, both in matters related to studies and to students’ well-being.

JYY organizes a wide variety of multidisciplinary events for its members, bringing together students from different fields and creating unforgettable moments throughout the academic year.

A wide range of different subject and hobby associations operate within the student union, where you can take part in multidisciplinary leisure activities and become part of an active student community.
Housing
In Jyväskylä, students have access to a variety of comfortable and diverse housing options. In the housing locations provided by Soihtu, JYY’s business operations, you can find affordable, high-quality, and community-oriented homes tailored to students’ needs.
Student card
As a student at the University of Jyväskylä, you can use the digital Slice student card or order a physical student card. The student card entitles you to, among other things, student-priced meals and discounts on public transport.
