Opening Fair

The Opening Fair brings together student organizations, university representatives, and both new and returning students. It’s a great opportunity to discover student life and explore the services offered by the Student Union. Join us at Agora in August and see what university life has to offer!

Opening Fair 2026 on Wednesday 26.8.

JYY and University of Jyväskylä host the Opening Fair at the beginning of each academic year. The next Opening Fair will take place on Wednesday, August 26th, in the Agora lobby. JYY, Soihtu, University of Jyväskylä, and various other stakeholders will participate in the fair. Additionally, there will be displays from hobby organizations, representative groups, and other partners that are active within the JYY community. This event offers a comprehensive overview of the Jyväskylä student community and the opportunities it provides.

An info session about JYY’s activities will be held for freshmen during the fair. At the same time, attendees can pick up the freshman backpacks provided by the university.

Apply to be an exhibitor at the event

Organizations are warmly invited to apply to be exhibitors at the Opening Fair! There are a limited number of exhibitor spots available, and priority will be given to hobby organizations, representative council groups, and university partners operating within the JYY network. If spots remain, they may also be allocated to other organizations. Please note that an exhibitor spot cannot be guaranteed for all applicants.

Registration closes on Wednesday, August 12th, at 12:00 PM. Applicants will be informed of the selections once the registration period ends.
