Insurances and safety
We want Sports Appro to be an enjoyable event for everyone and to inspire people to try different sports. It is important that you follow the instructions and act according to your own abilities when trying out different sports. Participants are responsible for assessing their health before participating in the event. Do not participate in the event if you have flu symptoms, are ill, or are under the influence of intoxicants.
Accident insurance has been taken out for the event. More detailed information about the insurance can be found below.
JYY student members are covered by accident insurance provided by the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL), which covers accidents involving members of the organization under certain conditions.
The insurance does not cover the following sports/activities:
- freestyle skiing, speed skiing, downhill skiing, or skiing on unmaintained slopes or outside marked slopes
- licensed competitive sports
- combat, contact, or self-defense sports
- motor sports
- air sports
- climbing sports, such as mountain, rock, or ice climbing
- scuba diving or free diving
- regular weekly shifts
All JAMK students with active JAMKO membership are covered by SAMOK accident insurance. The insurance covers everything except extreme sports. So, if you study at JAMK but are not a member of JAMKO, unfortunately you do not have accident insurance provided by the event organizer, but are participating at your own risk.
If you are not a member of the Jyväskylä University Student Union (JYY) or the Student Union at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences JAMKO, please check how your own or university or student union covers the sports you participate in.
